Build community awareness
The focus of our upcoming Seeds of Significance Urban Farming / Gardening Conference II on March 26, 2011 convening at the St. Stephen’s Community House is to advance, exhibit and produce an urban agrarian culture to youth, advocate for food justice, healthy community development, and job training. December 29, 2010 was the first conference held at the Gateway Health and Wellness Center and the success was measured by the gathering of urban farming enthusiasts from each side of town.

The Seeds of Significance Impact
Seeds of Significance aim is to build on existing community activities, not duplicate them. We seek commonalities where neighbors can come together to accomplish goals that serve mutual interests in food justice, healthy community development, and job training.

Seeds of Significance official events
Seeds of Significance Urban Farming / Gardening Conference II is a city-wide endeavor to attract more participants to the movement while embracing a diversity of perspectives and approaches to change. Participants are members of youth ministries, growers, educators, farmers, chefs, cooks, developers, nutritionists and social service providers.

Seek counsel of knowledgeable community members
The Seeds of Significance Urban Farming / Gardening Conference II seeks to engage and include the valuable resource of human capital in drawing from community elders and those from rural settings as well as those with a background in agriculture, economic development, nutrition, environmental sustainability, and the like.
Educating our community
We wish to help community members to become economically empowered by developing programs that work for our Seeds Of Significance Initiative, e.g.: Teach canning and preserving food or organize raised bed garden construction project.

Build a bridge between the community and local government
While Seeds of Significance is led by community members, we wish to naturally invite the participation of elected officials and those agencies serving the community through maintaining an active role in the community.

Create a visible inner city urban farming network
Ultimately, we wish for the Seeds of Significance Urban Farming / Gardening Conference II to result in the implementation of a community-crafted vision. We wish to develop a plan that serves as a 20-year guide to community resilience, restructuring our daycare, community centers, settlement houses and churches to re-educate the family structure based on a balanced ecological system.

Let Dadz Club Puppet Edutainment make your special one's birthday an extraordinary event! Our imaginative and interactive shows take the audience on a musical journey full of fun and laughter.

Dadz Club Puppet shows utilize
audience participation, instill a
love of music and language, and
stimulate the imagination. They
naturally support emotional development, improve listening
skills, and develop awareness of
and appreciation for the similarities in all people (and puppets).

Where?

Dadz Club will bring the traveling

puppet stage to your party along

with everything else needed

for the full puppet show experience.

The travel stage measures 6 ½ by

6 feet (or a large office desk). An

electrical outlet is necessary and

Dadz Club will bring an extension cord.

Most homes can comfortably fit the

stage in the living room, but

the best location will include plenty

of room for guests.

How?

Typical length for a child's birthday
party is one to two hours. The puppet
show should be scheduled approximately
30 minutes into your event; this allows
time for your guests to arrive, get
acquainted and visit prior to the show.
Some families plan a craft (i.e. making
puppets, hats or masks) prior to the puppet
show as the children arrive. Other
families let the children play and do big
movement activities. It all depends on
your individual needs and tastes. Puppet
show performance lengths vary between
25-30 minutes.

Don't forget to mention the puppet show start
time on your invitations this encourages your
guests to arrive prior to the
start of the show so no one
misses the fun.

P. Jesus Patrick
Founder, CEO, President of Positive Edutainment Network
worked in Education & Social Advocacy for over 9 years. Earned a BA in Philosophy and a Minor in Economics from Central State University. While attending college Mr. Patrick was able to use his position as a Columbus Public School Parent Liaison to help raise the consciousness of the community by working with the surrounding social organizations, creating and organizing powerful programs such as Seeds of Significance ( S.O.S.) In-School program.

After college graduation he continued to work in the public school system as a program development coordinator and an after-school program director for the YWCA. Mr. Patrick has a great love for art & philosophy. Realizing there was a need for him in this setting he worked hand in hand with businesses and services pertaining to inner-city youth to expose them to the fine arts world which became a big success for both local businesses and local artists.

Mr. Patrick and his support team developed Positive Edutainment Network (PEN) to fill a void. His network provides a platform for people to discuss education in a public forum where directives are not being pushed onto parents and students without proper understanding. P.E.N. provides programming that focuses on cultural & artistic expression, in the areas of dance, graphic communications, music, visual & performing arts.

POSITIVE EDUTAINMENT NETWORK 's mission, as an independent for profit cultural collective, is to serve as an open forum that allows enriching cross cultural expression, discussion and education through the arts, while changing the conditions of our society mainly using public media presentations.

Now residing in Chicago Mr. Patrick has worked with Chicago Public Schools in their Learning Technologies Program (2000) producing the Television shows
Stand Tall And Get Excited (S.T.A.G.E.) and In Focus with Chicago Public Schools with Rae Smith. From there Mr. Patrick began teaching and developing computer training classes in grammar schools and high schools.

In Columbus, I have collaborated with the Columbus chapter of the National Urban League with their Father 2 Father program to help fathers build better relationships with, and live up to the responsibilities to the mothers of their children, their children and Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. Additionally, I became the Administrator for Visionary Leaders Institute’s Saturday Academy for African-American Boys; through this program, we taught science, math, computer technology and character building for eighth and ninth grade African- American boys from across Central Ohio. The contacts made and the relationships developed while working at the Saturday Academy for African-American Boys, progressed into an initiative of urban farming. The emphasis on science and computer technology from the Academy was easily applied to inner-city agriculture.

SEEDS OF SIGNIFICANCE

In 2007 P. Jesus Patrick will be conducting computer-training classes at the More Power 2 Youth Center for youth and adults. Also Mr. Patrick will be producing 21st Dynast Fatherhood Program, a live studio audience show that asks questions of fathers and families and tackles challenges in today’s dysfunctional families.
Mr. Patrick thanks the creator and his family for all that he has accomplished to date.

October 9, 2006 5:45pm P. Je`sus Patrick and his two twin boys were involved in a car collision on the south side of Chicago. Fortunately the twins were in their seat belt and they are fine. Mr. Patrick had to be taken to the hospital for minor head injuries and was released Tuesday morning to his wife to go home . More details to come. Please pray for him and his family.
